Perth & Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) are about to start work installing 13 new gates and making repairs to fences along some parts of the Cateran Trail. The work, which is funded by Scottish Natural Heritage, will begin in mid-October and should be finished around the end of November.
Many walkers who are perfectly able to walk on uneven terrain have struggled with the tight gaps found on some kissing gates, or with the steep and sometimes slippery wooden stiles, so the new gates will provide much easier access.
The Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) was founded in 1997 and is an independent charity that negotiates access to land, builds footpaths, helps care for the countryside and undertakes conservation projects. PKCT is supported by The Gannochy Trust, Perth & Kinross Council, Scottish Natural Heritage and Forestry Commission Scotland.
