A huge thank you to the volunteers who came out to help Comrie Millennium Footpath Association and Perth & Kinross Council to improve a well-used path near Comrie Primary School.
We had scheduled two dates in the past to try and get this task done, on the first attempt the weather was appalling and even though people turned up, no one was particularly keen to get out of vehicles, a vote was taken, and it was decided to cancel.
On the second attempt the date clashed with an important rugby match and there was suddenly a lack of people available (Strathearn residents like their rugby).
As you can see from the photo it was well worth postponing the task as the weather was fantastic, not a cloud in the sky and the sun was bright.
Five volunteers and Greenspace Ranger Richard were present (one volunteer left before photo was taken).
A special thanks to work experience student Karl from Germany. Karl is in Scotland for a few months to gain experience from different organisations.
On the day we spent two hours scraping vegetation from the path surface to widen it and contribute towards preventing it becoming overgrown during the summer.
The next Strathearn Path Task will be on Saturday 20th of May, full details here
