Blairgowrie & Rattray Access Network (BRAN)
Despite the dry weather everything is growing fast along our footpaths and sadly people still drop litter & thoughtless dog owners still allow their dogs to foul the paths or leave bagged poo for others to remove. The BRAN volunteers are therefore in great demand!
Ally Donald was again out and about with the mower several times during the week & also turned out for the work party on Saturday 6th May.
On Saturday, 9 volunteers assembled at the Riverside car park before splitting up to undertake their different jobs. Hannah Williams carried out a very thorough litter pick from the Boat Brae steps along the riverside path, Wendy Mackey and Jan Seymour litter picked from the Keithbank car park, across the bridge and along Oakbank Road, Richard Townsend and Ally Donald strimmed along & around Oakbank Road, Cyril Smith concentrated on cutting brambles back and Roger Mackey and Ian Richards mowed the verges along Oakbank Rd.
A special mention to Peter Ritchie who spent more time during the week finishing the part resurfacing of the Kirklands to Drimmie Road path. This a lovely walk, fairly short but offering great views across the town and beyond, well worth a visit for anyone who doesn’t know it.
The photo was taken of the group at the start of their Saturday efforts:
