Blairgowrie & Rattray Access Network (BRAN)

W/E 27th May 2017

BRAN volunteers were active on several days last week.  Ally Donald was cutting grass on several evenings – River Ericht path on the Rattray side, Craighall Braes, Cargill’s Way and the Bluebell wood paths. Kristin Barrett and friends litter picked the middle path through Drimmie Wood and Helen Stanghon litter picked the Riverside, Lornty, Knockie and Oakbank Road paths.

On Friday the 26th, a group of six spent the morning on Cargill’s Way and the Kirklands to Drimmie Road paths. Mindful of the possibility of nesting birds the party gave a light trim to overhead and side growth including the now fast-growing brambles. The ditching work carried out by Ally Donald on the lower section of Cargill’s Way was seen to be working well with the side channel carrying water away and the path now almost dry. The party consisted of Cyril Reid, Len Seal, Ian Cruikshank, Davis Stanghon, John Edwards and Ian Richards.

BRAN members will be carrying out various tasks along the Cateran Trail during w/e 3rd June, this will include signage and waymarking as well as normal path maintenance.
