Once again BRAN volunteers were out in force during the week, individuals as well as small and large groups. The photo shows (from the LHS): Cyril Reid, Ian Richards, John Edwards, Ally Donald, Phil Seymour and Ian Cruickshank. (Aileen Stackhouse, Cath Robertson and Hadwig Steeple missed the photo!)

Areas tackled included:

  • Grass cutting – Loon Braes,
  • River Ericht path, both sides various sections,
  • Stormont Loch path,
  • Darroch Woods to Whitelock,
  • Gallowbank path,
  • Ardblair Wood to Loch View,
  • Maryfield to Gormack.
  • And trimming back side growth on River Ericht path Rattray side.

Ally Donald once more did the lion’s share of the work, Roger Mackey was also active and Ian Richards worked with Ally on the Loon Braes. Stuart Watson carried out a litter pick up the Cuttle Burn steps and along to Lornty Bridge & beyond.

On Saturday 17th June, nine volunteers turned out on the second occasion to support the Riverside Project Group. BRAN have agreed to carry out all the maintenance work on their behalf. Hadwig Steeple and Catherine Robertson litter picked the entire area and others strimmed, lopped self seeded saplings, cut the grass that the council had missed doing and also cut the Oakbank Road verges.

Anyone interested in helping with BRAN’s work should contact the secretary, Ian Richards.
